Digital Learning

At The Abbey, digital technology is a tool with a purpose. We believe in using it to amplify learning, not replace it, embedding it across the curriculum only where it serves our educational goals. In our all-girls environment, this means selecting technology that enables students to express their ideas, collaborate on complex problems, and create with intent in ways that wouldn’t otherwise be possible.
This philosophy comes to life in our classrooms. Guided by our specialist Head of Digital Learning, teachers weave a bespoke range of projects into their topics at every year level. This could involve anything from using AI to solve a problem, bringing a design to reality with 3D printers, or producing a stop-motion animation of a story. To encourage reflection, students also maintain a digital portfolio, documenting their creative journey and development.
The result is that Abbey pupils become more than just skilled users of technology; they become discerning digital citizens. They leave us equipped with the technical skills and critical thinking needed to understand the power and responsibilities of technology. Ultimately, they are challenged to apply their knowledge to solve real-world global problems, ready to innovate and lead with a strong sense of responsibility.
