Debating
The art of debating is a skill much valued at university and in the outside world. Participating in a debate (as a formal speaker or from the floor of the House) develops the ability to think logically, constructively and analytically, to speak in an articulate and clear way, to listen to the views of others and to develop self-confidence.
Sixth Form students can become involved in:
- regular after-school debates held with Reading School
- external competitions run by the English Speaking Union and the Oxford and Cambridge Unions
- the European Youth Parliament (UK)
