The Senior School
Ages 11-16 years
The Senior School is recognised for its caring, enthusiastic and happy atmosphere, in which academic rigour and breadth of educational experiences are encouraged.
When a girl joins The Abbey School, parents and school embark upon a partnership which is central to a girl's education throughout her Abbey career.
Pastoral care is central to our thinking. Form teachers and Heads of Year monitor each girl's academic and pastoral welfare and all are available for consultation with parents.
The school is an ideal size, where each girl is recognised as an individual. A very wide range of subjects is on offer, allowing flexibility of choice and excellent GCSE results are testimony to the girls’ positive work ethos.
Achievements are also exceptionally strong in Music, Art, Drama and Physical Education with an extensive extra-curricular programme.
The school has been awarded Sport England's highest schools awards, Sportsmark Gold and over 74% of the girls are involved in voluntary extra-curricular sport.
With the confidence bestowed by success in the Senior School, students are well prepared to meet the challenges of the Sixth Form.
