Catering
Sodexho have manged the catering at The Abbey School for the past three yearsand offer a wide range of healthy meals to 1200 pupils daily with a large amount of hospitality.
In 2007, The Abbey School was awarded a 5 star rating in the Food Safety Star Rating Scheme run by Reading Borough Council. This is the highest possible rating and all food establishments in the borough are rated. Results can be found at www.reading.gov.uk/foodsafety.
We are also entered in to the Healthy School programme for Bershire which means our food standards are in-line with Government Guide Lines and recommended by the School Food Trust. For more information go to www.schoolfoodtrust.org.uk.
Every day lunch consists of:
- two choices of the main meal
- a vegetarian option
- vegetables and/or a salad
- a pudding and/ or fruit
