Life after The Abbey
The School is keen to maintain its interest in, and connection with, girls long after they have completed their studies.
Many students elect to take a Gap Year before taking up their place at University. Some girls use dedicated Gap Year companies to organise their projects whilst others travel independently using personal contacts. The Old Girls' Association offers a Travel Scholarship Award Scheme to these students.
Following an extensive Careers programme, every assistance is given to girls to apply to the University of their choice including additional help for Oxbridge candidates.
The school maintains contact with a great many Old Girls, particularly through a thriving Old Girls' Association. Old Girls are always welcome to visit the school and are invited to watch or participate in various school activities.

2008 AGM & Reunion
A wonderful time was had by the Old Girls at School on Saturday, 26th April. The AGM was followed by a delicious lunch during which time reminiscences were shared at a lively rate. After lunch two pairs of girls made presentations in the Lecture Theatre: Astrid Ornell and Katie Huggins spoke about their continuing work with ‘For Life’ – a Thai charity, and Fiona Hayden-Cadd and Olivia Watson spoke about their partnership with a Latvian school through the Radiowaves ‘Voice It Europe’ campaign. Each pair received a donation from ASROGA to put towards their projects.
Marion Armson (Director of Development) revealed that Room 9 - the Geography Room – will be converted during the Summer holidays into the School Chapel. Archives and ephemera from the old School Chapel attracted much attention, but the greatest attention was paid to Room 9; it is at the heart of the school buildings with large windows flooding the room with light.
