GAP Year
This is a wonderful time for some, to take a break in between school and university, to enjoy a GAP year. Often this involves volunteer work in areas close to the girls' hearts.
The list of countries visited, and the various experiences, is vast.
In 2004 alone, a few of these included:
- working in a literacy programme in a small village in South America - prior to reading an Engineering degree;
- teaching English at the University of Hanoi in Vietnam - prior to taking up a Business Management course at university;
- working on a farm in New Zealand - prior to reading Veterinary Medicine;
- work on a conservation project in Zambia - prior to studying a Zoology degree;
- doing wildlife research and conservation projects in South Africa - prior to studying Veterinary Medicine;
- working on the Mercy Ship Anastasis in Africa - prior to reading Medicine;
- taking on the World Challenge to Peru - prior to reading Medicine.

On average 30% of the Sixth Form leavers opt for a GAP Year experience.
