Abbey Old Girls
All girls who have undertaken some or all of their education at The Abbey School become 'Old Girls' on the day they leave. Most will have subscribed to membership of ASROGA, Abbey School Reading Old Girls' Association, but those who don't are welcome to join ASROGA at any time in the future.
The school maintains regular contact with all known Old Girls but there are additional benefits for ASROGA members.
With an enormous wealth of qualifications, career breadth and life experience to draw on, Old Girls have a tremendous amount to offer the current pupils. Old Girls have provided assistance and expertise at the Careers Convention and the Sixth Form Management Conference as well as coming in to school on an ad hoc basis to give careers advice or presentations and assemblies. They are also invited to attend plays, concerts and events at both the Junior and Senior Schools.
Old Girls of all ages provide a very welcome addition to many events at the School and form a vital part of the Abbey Community.
We send our congratulations to two Old Girls who were awarded in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2006. Ms Sally Taylor was awarded the MBE for services to Regional Broadcasting and Mrs Rosalind Pritchard (nee Smith) was awarded the OBE for services to Tourism.
