Physics in the Sixth Form

A Level Physics develops a knowledge and understanding of the subject and its use in present day society. Many new techniques are learnt including data logging and the use of computers to analyse results. During the AS course a Medical Physics unit is studied which makes Physics a particularly valuable and useful subject for those intending to study medicine, veterinary science, other sciences, mathematics and many other subjects.

Physicists are renowned for their analytical skills and their ability to present and follow a logical argument. This makes A Level Physics a good subject for students going on to many careers including law, economics and business management.

Students of A Level Physics may continue their study of Physics at University, often in specialist areas like astrophysics, or in related areas like engineering, cybernetics, architecture or computer science. Many A Level physicists go on to study medicine, veterinary science, physiotherapy and other related courses, where their knowledge of physics is of great help in understanding the technology used in diagnosis and treatment.
