Physical Education in the Sixth Form
In the Sixth Form, each year group is allocated 2 lessons of Physical Education per week where they can opt to attend different activities. Additional courses are also run in subjects as diverse as self-defence and Yoga which girls can choose to do within their games period.
Physical Education is offered at both AS and A2 level. The Edexcel syllabus is covered and the department has achieved excellent results in recent years.
The AS course covers three main strands:
- Historical/socio-cultural
- Psychological/analytical
- Anatomy and physiology aspects
- and these then continue through to A2.
