Geography in the Sixth Form
Geography investigates the physical and the human world and the interaction between them. It examines the processes that shape the physical world such as rivers, coasts and plate tectonics and it studies the role of people in modifying and attempting to control these processes. The decision making processes involved in planning and managing human environments are discussed throughout the course in the modules on population, towns and manufacturing industry.
Geographers are renowned for their skills in data handling, for their knowledge of the world around them and for their ability to communicate with others.
Geography combines with any A Levels to provide a broad base for many university courses.
Many students who study Geography at The Abbey School choose to continue with the subject at University.
