Geography Department

PUTS YOU ON THE MAP!
Geography investigates the interaction of people with the physical world. It helps us to develop an interest and understanding of the world around us and to foster an awareness of current events. It develops knowledge of the contrasting opportunities and constraints facing peoples in varying societies. It enables a respect for the environment as an individual and as a member of society in the 21st century.
Geography is a very popular subject at The Abbey School with a high uptake at both GCSE and A Level. It is also being taught as part of the IB at both standard and higher levels.
Geography is a very successful department with 100% A grades awarded at A Level in August 2007, as well as one candidate being one of the top 10 in the country.
Geography is a very dynamic department. We have interactive white boards and the department utilises ICT within its curriculum.
