Classics Department
The classical languages encourage awareness and promote the knowledge and understanding of Latin and Greek language and literature, giving the girls an in-depth knowledge of the grammar and literature of the classics. They develop an awareness of the civilization and culture of Rome and Greece and this aids the understanding of how these two languages have influenced our own language and other European languages.
Latin and/or Greek in the Sixth Form can be combined with any other subject for A Level studies.
