French
French is taught from the beginning of Lower I (Year 3).

During these primary years, pupils are naturally receptive to language learning, showing a great capacity to absorb new vocabulary and ideas.

Lessons are lively and stimulating and use a variety of learning techniques to enable everyone to access the foreign language.

Word games, songs, role play and ICT resources are some of the reasons girls think that learning to communicate in a foreign language is fun.

Pupils enjoy mimicking authentic accents and styles of speech and they gain confidence in speaking a foreign language to a variety of audiences.
