Directions
By Road: The Abbey School is located just south of Reading Town Centre. Reading is well served by the M4 and A329(M) motorways as well as a number of A routes.To assist you in finding the school we have made a number of suggested routes below:
From the East: exit the M4 via junction 10 and join the A329(M). Take the second exit onto the A4 towards Reading town centre. Follow the signs to the Royal Berkshire Hospital along London Road. Pass through Cemetery Junction and keep in the left hand lane. Pass the Royal Berkshire Hospital on your left and filter left into Kendrick Road.
From the South and West: from the south follow the A33 to Junction 11 or from the west exit the M4 at junction 11. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit signposted A327 Shinfield, University, Earley B3270. Follow the signs for Reading University and the Royal Berkshire Hospital B3270. Driving parallel with the M4 continue to the next roundabout and take the 1st exit signposted Reading A327, Earley, University and Royal Berkshire Hospital. At the next roundabout continue straight on Shinfield Road. Keep straight at the next roundabout towards Reading A327. At the traffic lights crossing Wellington Avenue and Pepper Lane, continue straight. Pass the University of Reading Whiteknights campus entrance and at the next traffic lights continue straight into Christchurch Road. The Abbey Junior School is on the left hand side. Alternatively pass the Junior School and take the next road right into Kendrick Road where the Senior School is on the right hand side.
From the North: follow the A routes into the centre of Reading crossing the Caversham bridge towards Reading town centre. At the Holiday Inn roundabout, take the 3rd exit signposted to the A4. Follow the A329 dual carriageway towards the Oracle Shopping Centre going under the bypasses. Take the 4th exit signposted Aldershot A327, Basingstoke A33, University and The Oracle. At the shopping centre roundabout, take the 3rd exit on the left, signposted Aldershot A327, University. At the traffic lights turn right and follow the one way system to Silver Street, Mount Pleasant and Whitley Street to the roundabout. Take the 1st exit left into Christchurch Road and second left into Kendrick Road.
By Rail: Reading is a mainline station with frequent non-stop services from London Paddington and regular service connections to all parts of the U.K. The station is a 10 minute taxi journey from The Abbey School.
