One main advantage of attending a Sixth Form within a school, rather than at a separate college, is the leadership opportunities that this presents. Most girls in the Sixth Form hold a position of responsibility, which is not only an asset on a university application form but also offers a real personal development opportunity.
There are two Head Girls who are chosen after an interview process with Senior Staff. They have regular meetings with both the Director of Sixth Form and the Headmistress, take assemblies both at the Senior and Junior Schools and organise the Leavers' Ball.
The Registrar's Liaison is a relatively new position and is emblematic of the trust placed in the Sixth Form. She is responsible for organising a Sixth Former to tour prospective parents and pupils around the school.
The Head of Sixth Form also has a team of Senior Prefects and a team of Prefects who are often tasked with helping with the logistics for school events ranging from public speaking competitions to productions.
The Sixth Form Buddies are a vital part of the pastoral care system at the school. They work particularly closely with Upper III (Year 7) to help girls settle into the Senior School, but are also an invaluable source of advice for many of the younger girls.
The Drama, Music and Sports Captains work closely with those departments to ensure that extra-curricular programmes are well-organised and incorporate girls' feedback.
The House Captains are responsible for enthusing all the members of their House and generating house spirit at events ranging from House Music and Drama to Sports Day.
