The Abbey Sixth Form have the luxury of having a separate Sixth Form Centre which is off-limits to younger students. This not only gives girls a greater sense of privacy but also a quieter work environment away from the noise and disruption of the lower school. The main facilities are:
- The Common Room which has an informal relaxed atmosphere and it is used all the time by Sixth Formers
- Extensive IT facilities including access to desktop computers and wi-fi
- Sixth Form Dining Room where girls are offered a wide variety of hot and cold options
- Separate Sixth Form classes in the centre; the classrooms were specifically designed to provide the feel of university-type small tutorial groups and the lessons encourage more discussion between pupils as a method of learning
- Higher Education Room which holds vast quantities of information about going to university and gives detailed information about all the options our girls have after leaving Sixth Form
- the Quiet Room - a silent area available for students to work in; this becomes increasingly populated as exams draw near as our girls find it a helpful environment for revision
- use of the Fitness Room
- Girls have access to the Conference Room which is in the new Jane Austen Wing of the school. This can be used when making presentations or holding discussions. It offers students a chance to be in a realistic corporate environment which has been extremely relevant for those using it in conjunction with the Young Enterprise scheme.
As well as having the Sixth Form, girls are also able to use a number of whole school facilities, such as drama studios, music practice rooms, the new art studios, the science labs and sports venues including the swimming pool.
