A group of Sixth Formers set out on an ambitious North African expedition to Morocco. High in the Atlas Mountains the girls spent two days helping to maintain the village access roads and gaining an insight into the local Berber women's life. A four day trek into the Atlas Mountains followed including summiting Jebel Toubkal which at 4167metres is the highest mountain in Northern Africa. The group spent the remainder of the 12 days exploring the fascinating country - drinking mint tea on the roof terrace of the famous Kasbah du Toubkal, camel riding on the beach and haggling in the markets all whilst trying to escape the unbearble heat which reached 50°C. After sunset the girls experienced the excitement of the Djemaa el-Fna with its snake charmers and musicians.
