In October the Lower VI girls who have enrolled on Gold D of E this year had their first taste of a Gold level expedition.
We spent three days in the beautiful Brecon Beacons where we looked at the importance of looking after ourselves in a more remote mountainous environment, the importance of accurate navigation when visibility decreases and the importance of enjoying ourselves whilst on expedition.
We spent one night in a remote cosy mountain hut and one night in tents. This was a very enjoyable expedition and everyone gained a lot from it. The girls should now be ready to tackle their Practice Expedition in the Peak District in April.
