In October, six Upper VI students formed a team to take part in the AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment) Science and Engineering Challenge held at Tadley Community Centre.
The challenge aims to encourage young people to take an active interest in all aspects of engineering and design. The day consisted of four Science challenges in the morning and three Engineering tasks in the afternoon.
11 other schools took part and at the end of the day it was announced that The Abbey team had come second and so were presented with a Shield and a cheque for £250.
