Indoor Uniform

  • Blazer for UIII-UIV Compulsory for assembly and formal occasions. School badge is optional.
  • Black jacket for LV and UV girls
  • School skirt: This is a distinctive kilt style in green and is only available from the school outfitters. Please ensure when purchasing the skirt that the length is apppropriate, not more than 10cm above the knee.
  • School shirt: Regulation green and white striped open necked shirts, available from Stevensons.
  • Green pullover for UIII-UIV and black pullover for LV and UV: Regulation with embroidered school logo (worn winter and summer).
  • Tights/socks: Dark green or flesh coloured tights or dark green socks. Black tights or socks can be worn from Lower V upwards.
  • Overall: One green overall is required for Science and Art. It should be clearly marked with the owner's name on the front left side, preferably embroidered.
  • Food technology aprons: White apron with bib can be purchased from Stevensons or department stores. This applies to all girls in Upper III and those taking Food Technology as an option later.
  • School bag or case for books – any colour, but must be large enough to take A4 files and exercise books. Ruck sacks should be worn with straps tightened, as carrying weights with loose straps is bad for the girls’ backs. 
  • Shoes: Girls should wear black leather shoes with a low heel which give adequate support for the foot. UIII to UIV girls must wear a lace-up or a shoe with a bar across the foot. No trainers are allowed, except for sports lessons.

Outdoor uniform

UIII-LIV:  Dark green regulation fleece or regulation blazer

UIV - UV: Smart, tailored plain black coat or three quarter length jacket. (Must not be made from fur or fur imitation fabric.) Coats, anoraks, denim jackets of other colours may NOT be worn below the Sixth Form.

Games Kit

  • Tracksuit: Regulation with logo
  • Games skort - regulation 
  • Games polo shirt - regulation
  • Black leotard with long sleeves: These are worn for gymnastics and dance in the Autumn and Spring Terms.
  • Plain black, cycling shorts to be worn under leotards in all PE lessons.
  • Shin guards and gum shields (compulsory).
  • Green hockey socks and white ankle socks are required.
  • One pair of white trainers and one pair of studded football boots (plastic moulded)
  • Hockey stick for the Autumn and Spring Terms.
  • Tennis racquet for the Summer Term.
  • Swimming kit: Regulation plain black swimsuit - (no coloured trimmings or markings) and swimming caps which are worn in House colours: Carrington - purple; Ducat - red; Kensington - blue; Paget - yellow. Caps can be bought through the senior school reception. Each girl must provide her own towel.

The girls will have a kit inspection when they have their first P E lesson and all kit must be named.

General

Girls are discouraged from bringing valuable items to school and are strongly encouraged to lock up valuable items in lockers and to not leave valuables unattended at any time.

All girls must carry their money on their person when in school. No money may be left in desks or bags. A purse belt may be worn.

Hat, scarf and gloves: Plain dark green, black, cream or white.

Hair must be of a natural colour, clean and tidy. Long hair must be tied back and off shoulders and back from the face at all times. Hair accessories should be green, black or brown.

Jewellery – Plain watch. One pair of small plain stud earrings; one in each ear lobe. Discrete cross on slender chain or other approved religious jewellery.

Care of property

Clothing and all other possessions must be clearly marked with the owner’s name. Indelible ink must be used on tape, unless name tapes or adhesive cloth labels are used.

We advise that owner’s name be engraved on fountain pens, watches, calculators and mobile phones (which must not be switched on during the school day).

Purchase of Uniform

Uniform is supplied by Stevensons and is purchased at the school uniform shop or Parents' Association second-hand uniform shop (the Parents' Association sell house polo shirts which are optional and are to be worn at House events).

Stevensons, the school outfitter, will be in school every Monday 1.00 pm – 5.00 pm, Thursday 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm and Saturday 10.00 am – 1.00 pm during term time at 21 Kendrick Road. Additional opening times for summer 2011 can be downloaded below. They also operate a mail order service and the full price list is available to download below. Items found to be unsuitable can be returned in good order.
