Lower I (Year 3)

Visit from a Roman Soldier Year 3 Production

Lower I (Year 3) is the first year of Key Stage 2 which is seen by many girls as exciting and a sign that they are growing up!

It is a step into increased independence with timetables more varied and needing to be read and understood. The daily routine changes slightly and the end of the day is fifteen minutes later than in Key Stage 1.  Specialist lessons such as ICT, Music, Drama and PE continue in Lower One. Specialist Science lessons now take place in the Science Lab.

Life in Lower I is busy, with many extra-curricular clubs to cater for the variety of talents and interests displayed by our girls. Trips and workshops support and enrich the curriculum. The opportunity is given for the girls to take part in their first residential trip with the school. This is for one night and is an experience which many find rewarding and one of the highlights of the year.

The chance to perform in front of an audience is not forgotten. There is a Lower I production as well as a form assembly to which parents are invited. By the end of the year the children are familiar with the expectations of Key Stage 2 and ready to take on the challenges of the next year with confidence.
