Each year, the Lower III Celebration and Awards Ceremony is an occasion to share with the year 6 girls and their parents the many successes of the year group and to reflect on their time in the Junior School. This year there were a record sixty-five girls with a vast array of talents and achievements to celebrate – from academic prowess to judo skills, from diving feats to dance accolades. The awards were presented by Ms Rachel Feneck, Education Director for NACE who spoke in her address to the girls about being 'expert learners'. She felt that she had seen a great deal of evidence of this approach to learning during her visits to The Abbey School. At the end of the afternoon Ms Rowena Gaston (NACE Chief Executive) presented the NACE Challenge Award Certificate to the girls. This award was achieved by the whole school earlier in the year. The girls, parents and staff enjoyed refreshments after the ceremony.
