On Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 September Mrs Jane Walton, local historian, treated Upper II (Year 5) to a Victorian Workshop. The Upper II girls thoroughly enjoyed their Victorian workshop with Miss Jane. They had the opportunity to handle real Victorian artefacts and experience life during this period in History. The girls had the opportunity to dress up in a wonderful array of costumes including chimney sweeps, maids and even Queen Victoria!
The girls were very curious to discover the use of many unusual items in the artefacts quiz. A particular highlight of the day was washing clothes with a mangle and playing with traditional Victorian toys.
The girls entered into their role as Victorians enthusiastically and are keen to discover more about this fascinating era.
