Upper I (Year 4) arrived at Hampton Court on a gloriously sunny day; the palace looked resplendent against the blue sky. The girls took part in a Drama workshop about the Six Wives of Henry VIII, improvising and acting out a scene from his life. A visit to the kitchens followed and the girls experienced the heat from the great fires used to roast meat for the court. When looking around Henry’s apartments the girls were delighted to be granted an audience with His Highness himself, who was able to answer some questions from his eager subjects. It was a rewarding experience to be able to walk around the only remaining palace out of the fifty seven that Henry originally owned.
