Cornish Adventure

Surf School

The Lower III (Year 6) girls spent a week in Bude, Cornwall as their time at the Junior School draws to a close. Divided into activity groups, the girls followed a busy schedule which included coastal traversing, surfing, canoeing, orienteering and abseiling down a cliff!

The action continued in the evenings with beach games being organised by Mrs Orr, Head of PE, and the two gap students. The combination of fresh air and fun-packed adventurous days ensured the girls enjoyed a good night sleep. Waking up each morning to the backdrop of the Cornish coast, it certainly was an enjoyable week.

This trip always brings out the best in the girls as they face personal challenges with resilience and perserverance.  Many girls managed to achieve personal goals confronting their fears when abseiling down a cliff, for others this was standing up on a surf board and for others it was crawling through a narrow gap while coastal traversing.

The week also encouraged a great deal of team work and cooperation and the girls returned with amazing memories of this special time spent together.
