Sport

Besides the prominence of PE within the curriculum, the extra-curricular programme for sport is extensive. Almost every girl is involved in at least one extra-curricular sporting activity each week and, for many, this is an almost daily event.

Inter form and inter house competitions from Under 8 upwards can lead to inter school fixtures for many girls in a wide variety of events. The Abbey Junior School is developing an excellent reputation for sport and our teams regularly achieve tournament successes. The main fixture list sports are hockey, netball, rounders and swimming but we have also fielded teams in Biathlon, gymnastics and skiing.

Girls also get the opportunity to try out new activities in the many clubs on offer which range from judo to tennis.
