Extra-curricular

Chess Club Cheerleading Club

The variety of clubs and activities offered at the Abbey Junior School is extensive and exciting. The programme changes each term, with new clubs appearing throughout the year. These reflect the talents and interests of the staff, as well as the requests of the girls, and some Sixth Formers also help out at certain clubs. A timetable is produced for each term showing the range of clubs for each year group from Preparatory to Lower III. These include activities such as dance, art and craft, knitting, gardening, Mandarin and much more. We encourage the girls to choose a selection of lunchtime or after school clubs throughout the year and to take the opportunity to try something new.

Our after school clubs require parental permission and the girls are allowed a small snack before the club starts. Places are allocated as fairly as possible and if the demand is high, some clubs may run again later in the year. We ask the girls to give careful thought to their choices and encourage everyone to show a sense of commitment until the end of term. Our Extra-Curricular programme received an ‘outstanding’ report in our recent inspection and highlighted the diversity of the activities on offer.

The full extra-curricular guide 'The Edge' can be downloaded below. This is organised by year group and shows the full range of clubs on offer.
