Design and Technology (DT) is the process of designing and making products for a specific intended use. As a curriculum subject, DT develops in the girls an understanding of the ways in which products have been designed in the past and present to meet the needs of people. DT uses and develops further practical skills and knowledge from Science, Maths, IT and Art. We are very well resourced with child-scale tools for working with wood and other materials, textiles, mechanisms and we have a fully equipped Food Technology room.
Current DT projects include using pneumatic mechanisms and cams to make toys, making a fitted pair of slippers and creating a working model of a lighthouse.
