Garden Open Afternoon

Garden Open Day 11.3.10

The outdoor area at The Abbey School Early Years Centre has been considerably enhanced with the addition of new play equipment and garden areas. Parents were invited to come for an afternoon and explore with their daughters. A large crowd looked on as Ros Allen-Hall, Head of Early Years, and Clive Burgess, Landscape Gardener, helped the youngest and oldest girls in Knell House - Preethika, Dilara and Summer, to cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony.

Despite the chilly weather, the girls excitedly showed the new equipment off to their parents and loved the opportunity to play with them, introducing them to the selection of educational, exploratory and fun apparatus which was purchased with support from Reading Borough Council. The wooden stage areas with mirrors proved particularly popular with the girls and they proudly showed off the Spring flowers they had planted.

Mrs Allen-Hall commented, "We are all so proud of the improvements made to the Knell House Garden and are delighted that so many parents came along to see what wonderful fun their children will have in the new surroundings.”
