Our provision is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework for children aged 0 - 5 which is set in the context of the Every Child Matters agenda.
• Be healthy
• Stay safe
• Enjoy and Achieve
• Make a positive contribution
• Achieve economic well being
The Early Years Foundation Stage is divided into six areas of learning
• Personal Social and Emotional Development
• Communication Language and Literacy
• Problem Solving Reasoning and Numeracy
• Knowledge and Understanding of the World
• Physical Development
• Creative Development
Whilst the curriculum is planned to maximise learning within each of the six areas, the Early Years ethos is to promote cross-curricular experiences.
The framework allows continuity and progression between the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
