The Chapel is physically at the heart of the Senior School and reflects our ongoing commitment to The Abbey’s Christian heritage while also seeking to be welcoming and inclusive of students who are from a different world view.
The Chapel is a place of spirituality and calm where anyone is welcome to sit, taking time to reflect, pray and think. For students of faith there are a number of groups that meet weekly, providing opportunities for mutual support and fellowship. The Chaplain also offers the opportunity for students to attend Confirmation classes.
Assemblies are acts of worship led by staff and pupils where girls are encouraged to reflect on a wide range of relevant religious, political and ethical issues. The themes are wide ranging but communicate the values of the school and encourage girls to think and care about the community around them. The Chaplain also runs an annual retreat in partnership with Ufton Court. Girls of any age are welcome.
We also believe in the power of prayer. The Parents' Prayer Group meets once a month on the second Friday of each month in The Chapel from 2.00 - 3.00 pm and any parent from any part of the school is welcome to come.
