GCSE students celebrated truly excellent results with an amazing 52 girls (half of the year group) achieving straight A*/As. In total, 49% of papers were at A*, 86% A*/A and 97% A*-B.

Sylvie who won a place in the National Youth Theatre this summer showed that she is also exceptional in the classroom with 7A*s and 3As and Emily who is a national trampolinist gained 5A*s and 5As.
Headmistress Barbara Stanley was thrilled with the results, “It is wonderful to see how well the girls have done and it is credit to their hard work and that of our excellent teaching staff. These results are on a par with our best-ever GCSE year and confirm The Abbey as one of the top academic schools in the country.”
Many of the girls were heading straight to Reading Festival to celebrate after collecting their results and are now looking forward to studying A levels or the IB Diploma in the Abbey Sixth Form.
